College Matching

Looking for a college that’s all about the parties? Find your college home at one of the best party schools in America. The Princeton Review publishes a list of the best party schools across the country every year, and these schools made the top ten for 2019:

#10: University of Rhode Island

Located in Kingston, Rhode Island, URI is home to nearly 17,000 students. Greek life is popular, with over 20 sororities and fraternities to choose from. Its proximity to Providence, Boston, and New York means you’ll have no shortage of entertainment! Plus, it’s only six miles from the beach! How many students get to use that as a study (…or party) spot?

#9: Bucknell University

Ranked at #35 in National Liberal Arts Colleges, and with an acceptance rate of 33%, this party school doesn’t slack on academics. It sits in the rural town of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Despite having substance-free housing, Bucknell came in at #9 on the top party schools in America.

#8: Wake Forest University

Wake Forest is recognized as one of the most prestigious private schools in the country and is known for its competitive admissions and challenging academics. Over 8,000 students attend this school in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Almost half of those students are involved in a sorority or fraternity. Looks like “work hard, play hard” is the motto here!

#7: Colgate University

Coming in seventh is Colgate University, located in Hamilton, New York. It has a 25% acceptance rate and rigorous academics, but that doesn’t stop students from letting loose! A large portion of the almost 3,000 students are involved in Greek life at this rural party school.

#6: University of California, Santa Barbara

UCSB is ranked highly for national universities, and its setting on the coast of Southern California doesn’t hurt either! Over 25,000 students attend this school, and many are involved with the hundreds of on-campus clubs, organizations, and Greek life.

#5: Tulane University

New Orleans is known for its party atmosphere, so it’s no surprise that this New Orleans school made the top five party schools! Still, Tulane is one of the most respected and selective universities in the country, with an acceptance rate of only 17%.

#4: West Virginia University

WVU is a public university located in Morgantown, West Virginia. They are a well-known research university and offer nearly 400 majors and hundreds of student organizations. They also participate in 18 intercollegiate sports – the main reason for their big school spirit! Morgantown and nearby Pittsburgh also offer a bustling nightlife.

#3: University of Delaware

There’s always something to do at the University of Delaware, located in Newark, Delaware. But it’s not just known for its party school status. It also ran the country’s first study abroad program in the 1920s, and roughly a third of students study abroad through the University of Delaware today.

#2: University of Alabama

The University of Alabama is known for its football, student organizations, and Greek life. School spirit runs rampant on the Tuscaloosa, Alabama campus. And with almost 40,000 students, it’s easy to see why! Roll Tide!

#1: Syracuse University

Syracuse takes the top party school! Greek life, parties, and sports are big here, but that’s not all it has to offer. They’re known for their academics and are ranked as one of the best research universities in the country.
